Aged Domain

Also known as: aged domains, old domain, mature domain

A domain name that has been registered for years and may already have history, links, trust, or search visibility.

Definition

An aged domain is a domain that has existed long enough to build a public history. Buyers look at aged domains because they may already have backlinks, old rankings, brand signals, or topical trust that a brand-new domain does not have.

Example

A domain registered in 2014 with clean backlinks from real websites may be more useful than a new domain registered today.

Important Context

Age alone does not make a domain valuable. Spam history, weak links, trademark risk, and poor topic fit can make an aged domain a bad asset.
